Design and Endpoints of Clinical Trials in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Josep M. Llovet,Adrian M. Di Bisceglie,Jordi Bruix,Barnett S. Kramer,Riccardo Lencioni,Andrew X. Zhu,Morris Sherman,Myron Schwartz,Michael Lotze,Jayant A. Talwalkar,Gregory J. Gores +10 more
TL;DR: These guidelines provide a common framework for designing trials to facilitate comparability of results, and randomized phase 2 trials with a time-to-event primary endpoint, such as time to progression, are pivotal in clinical research on HCC.
A Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
TL;DR: Aspirin has been widely used to prevent myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke, but some studies have suggested it increases risk of hemorrhagic stroke as mentioned in this paper, which is not the case here.

TL;DR: Guidelines and recommendations developed and/or endorsed by the American College of Rheumatology are intended to provide guidance for particular patterns of practice and not to dictate the care of a particular patient.

Aspirin plus Clopidogrel as Secondary Prevention after Stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Qinghua Zhang,Chao Wang,Maoyong Zheng,Yanxia Li,Jincun Li,Liping Zhang,Xiao Shang,Chuanzhu Yan +7 more
TL;DR: Short-term aspirin in combination with clopidogrel is more effective as secondary prevention of stroke or TIA without increasing the risk of hemorrhagic stroke and major bleeding events and the clinical applicability of the findings of this systematic review needs to be confirmed in future clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mindfulness-based stress reduction for stress management in healthy people: A review and meta-analysis.
TL;DR: MBSR showed a nonspecific effect on stress reduction in comparison to an inactive control, both in reducing stress and in enhancing spirituality values, and a possible specific effect compared to an intervention designed to be structurally equivalent to the meditation program.

Intraclass correlations: uses in assessing rater reliability.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present guidelines for choosing among six different forms of the intraclass correlation for reliability studies in which n target are rated by k judges, and the confidence intervals for each of the forms are reviewed.

Health Measurement Scales: A Practical Guide to Their Development and Use
TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose three basic concepts: devising the items, selecting the items and selecting the responses, from items to scales, reliability and validity of the responses.

Empirical evidence of bias. Dimensions of methodological quality associated with estimates of treatment effects in controlled trials.
TL;DR: Empirical evidence is provided that inadequate methodological approaches in controlled trials, particularly those representing poor allocation concealment, are associated with bias.

TL;DR: A reasonable standard design and conduct of trials will facilitate the interpretation of those with conflicting results and help in making valid combinations of undersized trials.
