Abstract
a b s t r a c t The ab initio quasirelativistic Hartree–Fock method developed specifically for the calculation of spectral parameters of heavy atoms and highly charged ions is used to derive transition data for a multicharged tungsten ion. The configuration interaction method is applied to include electron correlation effects. The relativistic effects are taken into account in the Breit–Pauli approximation for quasirelativistic Hartree–Fock radial orbitals. The energy level spectra, radiative lifetimes and Lande gfactors are calculated for the 4p 6 4d 2 , 4p 6 4d4f, and 4p 5 4d 3 configurations of the ion W 36+ . The transition wavelengths, spontaneous transition probabilities, oscillator strengths, and line strengths for the electric dipole, electric quadrupole, electric octupole, and magnetic dipole transitions among the levels of these configurations are tabulated.

Correlating double-difference of charge radii with quadrupole deformation and B ( E 2 ) in atomic nuclei

TL;DR: In this paper, a good linear correlation is found between the double difference of charge radius and quadrupole deformation data in even-even nuclei, which results in a further improved charge radius relation that holds in a precision of about $5\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{1.10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$ fm.

Evolution of Helium Star - White Dwarf Binaries Leading up to Thermonuclear Supernovae

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed binary evolution calculations on helium star - carbon-oxygen white dwarf (CO WD) binaries using the stellar evolution code MESA and found that this single degenerate channel may contribute significantly to thermonuclear supernovae at short delay times.

Nucleosynthesis and observation of the heaviest elements

TL;DR: The rapid neutron capture or 'r process' of nucleosynthesis is believed to be responsible for the production of approximately half the natural abundance of heavy elements found on the periodic table above iron (with proton number $Z=26$) and all of the heavy elements above bismuth ($Z=83$) as discussed by the authors .
