Abstract
a b s t r a c t The ab initio quasirelativistic Hartree–Fock method developed specifically for the calculation of spectral parameters of heavy atoms and highly charged ions is used to derive transition data for a multicharged tungsten ion. The configuration interaction method is applied to include electron correlation effects. The relativistic effects are taken into account in the Breit–Pauli approximation for quasirelativistic Hartree–Fock radial orbitals. The energy level spectra, radiative lifetimes and Lande gfactors are calculated for the 4p 6 4d 2 , 4p 6 4d4f, and 4p 5 4d 3 configurations of the ion W 36+ . The transition wavelengths, spontaneous transition probabilities, oscillator strengths, and line strengths for the electric dipole, electric quadrupole, electric octupole, and magnetic dipole transitions among the levels of these configurations are tabulated.

Density dependence of the symmetry energy from neutron skin thickness in finite nuclei

TL;DR: In this paper, the density dependence of the symmetry energy around saturation density, characterized by the slope parameter L, is studied using information provided by the neutron skin thickness in finite nuclei.

Chiral three-nucleon forces and the evolution of correlations along the oxygen isotopic chain

TL;DR: Cipollone et al. as mentioned in this paper employed self-consistent Green's function (SCGF) theory which allows a comprehensive calculation of the single-particle spectral function, such as attachment and removal of a nucleon, spectroscopic factors, and radii.

Layer-by-layer entangled spin-orbital texture of the topological surface state in Bi$_2$Se$_3$

TL;DR: The surface state Dirac fermions are characterized by a layer-dependent entangled spin-orbital texture, which explains the discrepancy between the spin polarization obtained in spin and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy-ranging from 20% to 85%-and the 100% value assumed in phenomenological models.

Evidence for Nonlinear Isotope Shift in Yb^{+} Search for New Boson.

TL;DR: The quadratic field shift is identified as a possible nuclear contributor to the non linearity at the observed scale, and how the nonlinearity pattern can be used in future, more accurate measurements to separate a new-boson signal from nuclear effects is shown.

The theory of atomic structure and spectra

TL;DR: In this article, the Slater-Condon theory of atomic structure and spectra is combined with a coherent set of closed-form equations suitable both for computer calculations on cases of arbitrary complexity and for hand calculations for very simple cases.
