Abstract
a b s t r a c t The ab initio quasirelativistic Hartree–Fock method developed specifically for the calculation of spectral parameters of heavy atoms and highly charged ions is used to derive transition data for a multicharged tungsten ion. The configuration interaction method is applied to include electron correlation effects. The relativistic effects are taken into account in the Breit–Pauli approximation for quasirelativistic Hartree–Fock radial orbitals. The energy level spectra, radiative lifetimes and Lande gfactors are calculated for the 4p 6 4d 2 , 4p 6 4d4f, and 4p 5 4d 3 configurations of the ion W 36+ . The transition wavelengths, spontaneous transition probabilities, oscillator strengths, and line strengths for the electric dipole, electric quadrupole, electric octupole, and magnetic dipole transitions among the levels of these configurations are tabulated.

Interface-Generated Spin Currents.

TL;DR: Transport calculations based on ab initio band structures reveal large interface-generated spin currents at Co/Pt, Co/Cu, and Pt/Cu interfaces, providing a novel mechanism for generating spin torques in magnetic trilayers.

Mind the Gap: The Location of the Lower Edge of the Pair-instability Supernova Black Hole Mass Gap

TL;DR: In this article, the location of the lower edge of the mass gap at 45 M is remarkably robust against variations in the metallicity, the treatment of internal mixing, and stellar wind mass loss, making it the most robust predictor for the final stages of the evolution of massive stars.

The 44Ti-powered spectrum of SN 1987A

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the late-time (about eight years) Hubble Space Telescope spectrum of the SN 1987A ejecta, where 44 Ti is the dominant power source.

DOSXYZnrc Users Manual

TL;DR: This user’s manual contains information on how to compile and run DOSXYZnrc using the EGSnrcMP system and describes the use of ctcreate, a companion program capable of reading in a CT data set of Hounsfield numbers and converting it into the information needed to simulate transport in a phantom.

r -process nucleosynthesis from matter ejected in binary neutron star mergers

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed full general-relativistic simulations of binary neutron-star mergers employing three different nuclear-physics equations of state (EOSs), considering both equal-and unequal-mass configurations, and adopting a leakage scheme to account for neutrino radiative losses.
