Abstract
a b s t r a c t The ab initio quasirelativistic Hartree–Fock method developed specifically for the calculation of spectral parameters of heavy atoms and highly charged ions is used to derive transition data for a multicharged tungsten ion. The configuration interaction method is applied to include electron correlation effects. The relativistic effects are taken into account in the Breit–Pauli approximation for quasirelativistic Hartree–Fock radial orbitals. The energy level spectra, radiative lifetimes and Lande gfactors are calculated for the 4p 6 4d 2 , 4p 6 4d4f, and 4p 5 4d 3 configurations of the ion W 36+ . The transition wavelengths, spontaneous transition probabilities, oscillator strengths, and line strengths for the electric dipole, electric quadrupole, electric octupole, and magnetic dipole transitions among the levels of these configurations are tabulated.

Tunable X-ray source by Thomson scattering during laser-wakefield acceleration

TL;DR: In this paper, all-optical Thomson scattering intercepting the acceleration process in a laser wakefield accelerator is detected using transverse shadowgraphy, which facilitates alignment and can be employed as accelerator diagnostic as well as reliable setup to generate x-rays with tunable energy.

Bare collapse, formation of neutron star binaries and fast optical transients

TL;DR: In this article , the authors carried out calculations of the collapse due to electron-capture of both evolutionary and synthetic isentropic bare stellar cores and found that the collapse results in the formation of a light ∼1.3M⊙ neutron star and an ejection of ∼0.1M ⊙ at ∼1c.

TL;DR: In this paper, the upward transition probabilities for the transition levels, 0+ → 2+, 2+ → 4+, 4+ → 6+ and 6+ → 8+ levels of even-even neutron rich 104-114Ru isotopes have been calculated by using the Global Best Fit (GBF) method.
