Between administration and research: Understanding data management practices in an institutional context

TLDR
The results of an institutional survey at a medium‐sized Austrian university with a STEM focus are presented to give an overview of the state of RDM practices across faculties and disciplinary contexts, extending the state‐of‐the‐art on R DM practices by combining in‐depth qualitative material with quantified, detailed data.
Abstract
Research Data Management (RDM) promises to make research outputs more transparent, findable, and reproducible. Strategies to streamline data management across disciplines are of key import...

科研数据共享的挑战 (The Conundrum of Sharing Research Data)

TL;DR: Four rationales for sharing data are examined, drawing examples from the sciences, social sciences, and humanities: to reproduce or to verify research, to make results of publicly funded research available to the public, to enable others to ask new questions of extant data, and to advance the state of research and innovation.

Big data, little data, no data : scholarship in the networkedworld

TL;DR: Borgman as discussed by the authors argues that data have no value or meaning in isolation; they exist within a knowledge infrastructure, an ecology of people, practices, technologies, institutions, material objects, and relationships.

What Drives Academic Data Sharing

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a conceptual framework that explains the process of data sharing from the primary researcher's point of view, which can be divided into six descriptive categories: data donor, research organization, research community, norms, data infrastructure, and data recipients.

Evaluation of Research Data Management (RDM) services in academic libraries of India: A triangulation approach

TL;DR: In this article , the authors evaluated the current status of the adaptation of RDS or RDM services in Indian academic libraries (which includes a total of 186 institutions, including all of India's Central Universities (54) and Institutes of National Importance (132)).

From core referencing to data re-use: two French national initiatives to reinforce paleodata stewardship (National Cyber Core Repository and LTER France Retro-Observatory)

TL;DR: ROZA was developed under the umbrella of LTER-France (Long Term Ecological Research) in order to facilitate the re-use of data and samples and will favor to use of paleodata by non-paleodata scientists, in particular ecologists.

Theory Construction in Qualitative Research From Grounded Theory to Abductive Analysis

TL;DR: The authors argue that abduction, rather than induction, should be the guiding principle of empirically based theory construction, which is based on the theory of inference, meaning, and action of pragmatist philosopher Charles S. Peirce.
