Bioethanol production from agricultural wastes: An overview

TL;DR: In this paper, the suitability of processing residues from selected root and vegetables for bioethanol production, which are otherwise environmental pollutants, was explored, and the effect of lime pretreatment at high (HT), low (LT) or room (RT) temperatures on compositional and ultrastructural changes in peels of root crops (sweet potato, elephant foot yam and tannia) and vegetable processing residues (peels from ash gourd and mixed vegetable waste) was studied.

Investigating the extraction of alcohol from agricultural wastes in Mauritius

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the optimum conditions for the alcohol extraction process from vegetables and fruit wastes, which make up a large portion of agricultural waste in Mauritius focusing on the different process parameters affecting the hydrolysis and fermentation processes including acid concentration and biomass loading and yeast concentration, pH, temperature and retention time, respectively, to achieve maximum alcohol yield.
