The crystal structure of Na(NH4)Mo3O10·H2O
TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal structure of Na(NH4)Mo3O10·H2O has been solved by parallel tempering using the FOX software package with synchrotron powder diffraction data obtained from beamline 08B1-1 at the Canadian Light Source.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and Crystal Structure of the Novel Compound Mg4.5Pr79.5Mo126O312 Containing Mo3, Mo7 and Mo19 Clusters
TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis and crystal structure of reduced molybdenum oxide Mg4.5Pr79.5Mo126O312 are presented, where the structure is built up from alternating slabs made up of Mo3, Mo7 and Mo19 clusters, and slabs containing isolated MoO6 octahedra.
Journal ArticleDOI
Manipulation of Catalyst Structure for Molybdenum Trioxide by Chemical Etching
TL;DR: In this paper, a chemical etching method has been developed for restructuring these thermally processed catalysts using a 0.1 M NaOH etchant, where the surface steps, ledges, and terraces are created upon this etching.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vapour Phase Growth of Layered MoO3: A New Kinetic Approach for Volatile Metal Oxides
TL;DR: In this paper, a growth kinetic method was developed in conjunction with present vapour phase preparation of layered MoO3 (orthorhombic) to ensure stoichiometry of grown metal oxide.

Possible high Tc superconductivity in the Ba-La-Cu-O system
TL;DR: In this paper, Ba−La−Cu−O system, with the composition BaxLa5−xCu5O5(3−y) have been prepared in polycrystalline form, and samples with x=1 and 0.75,y>0, annealed below 900°C under reducing conditions, consist of three phases, one of them a perovskite-like mixed-valent copper compound.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nonaqueous Electrochemistry of Magnesium Applications to Energy Storage
TL;DR: In this paper, an ambient temperature rechargeable magnesium battery based on organic electrolytes and positive electrodes capable of reversible intercalation of Mg+2 ions is discussed. But the number of combinations of solvent, solute, and inter-calation cathode which give reasonable battery performance is much more limited for Mg than for alkali metals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystal chemistry of metal dioxides with rutile-related structures
Journal ArticleDOI
Solid State Electrodes for High Energy Batteries
D. W. Murphy,P. A. Christian +1 more
TL;DR: The physical and structural properties relevant to the ability of transition metal oxides with framework structures to topochemically incorporate lithium are discussed, and Perovskite-related structures are particularly attractive hosts for lithium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electric Field Breakdown of Charge-Density-Wave—Induced Anomalies in Nb Se 3
TL;DR: In this paper, the suppression by electric fields of longitudinal resistivity anomalies at 145 and 59 K in the compound Nb${\mathrm{Se}}_{3} was reported, and attributed the observed suppression to Zener breakdown across extremely small gaps introduced by the presence of charge density waves.
