The subunit-exchange model of histone acetylation.

TL;DR: Comparing the biochemical nature of the Tetrahymena HAT A complex with the genetic and biochemical properties of the Saccharomyces Gcn5p-Ado complex leads it to be proposed that histone acetylase assemblies may be modular in nature and that this modularity may be an intimate part of the association of these enzymes with chromatin.
Journal ArticleDOI

TM6, a novel nuclear matrix attachment region, enhances its flanking gene expression through influencing their chromatin structure.

TL;DR: It is suggested that TM6 mediated its chromatin opening and chromatin accessibility of its flanking promoters with consequent enhancement of transcription.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiscale coarse-grained modelling of chromatin components: DNA and the nucleosome.

TL;DR: Recent progress in coarse graining modelling of the major chromatin components, double helical DNA and the nucleosome core particle (NCP) is presented and general principles and approaches allowing rigorous bottom-to-top generation of interaction potentials in the CG models are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chromatin as a tool for the study of genome function in cancer.

TL;DR: In a broad sense, genome reprogramming in cancer is associated with the remodeling of a multitude of regulatory DNA stretches—e.g., promoters, enhancers, locus control regions (LCRs), insulators, etc.—into a specific chromatin architecture that complements and significantly expands its DNA methylation‐based component.
Journal ArticleDOI

An intrachromosomal repeating unit based on DNA bending.

TL;DR: It is shown that DNA bend sites are present at an interval of roughly 700 bp in the G gamma-A gamma-psi beta-globin gene region and that they divide the region into units and a close inspection of one of the sites indicated that a 20-bp sequence containing periodic short (dA)n tracts was partly responsible for the bending.
