Combination of Advanced Oxidation Processes and biological treatments for wastewater decontamination—A review
TLDR
The main conclusions arrived at from the overall assessment of the literature are that more work needs to be done on degradation kinetics and reactor modeling of the combined process, and also dynamics of the initial attack on primary contaminants and intermediate species generation.About:

Ligninolytic enzymes: Versatile biocatalysts for the elimination of endocrine-disrupting chemicals in wastewater.
TL;DR: The potential of some ligninolytic enzymes in the elimination of EDC in wastewater is discussed and a new scheme of wastewater treatment process for EDC removal is proposed.

Relationship between the structure of Fe-MCM-48 and its activity in catalytic ozonation for diclofenac mineralization.
TL;DR: X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption desorption, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy characterizations revealed that Fe existed in the framework of MCM-48, and Fe-MCM- 48 possessed a large surface area and a highly ordered cubic mesoporous structure, which could accelerate reactants and products diffusion.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of various ozone pretreatment doses on the performance of endogenous microbial communities for the remediation of oil sands process-affected water
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of different ozone pretreatment doses on the performance of endogenous microbial populations in degrading naphthenic acids (NAs) for the treatment of oil sands process-affected water (OSPW) were evaluated.

Ozone dose dependent formation and removal of ozonation products of pharmaceuticals in pilot and full-scale municipal wastewater treatment plants
Suman Kharel,Michael Stapf,Ulf Miehe,Maja Ekblad,Michael Cimbritz,Per Falås,Josefine Nilsson,Robert Sehlén,Kai Bester +8 more
TL;DR: The formation maximum of a given compound occurred at a specific ozone dose that is characteristic for each compound, but seemed to be independent of the wastewater used for the experiments at the two pilots and the full-scale plant.
