Combination of Advanced Oxidation Processes and biological treatments for wastewater decontamination—A review
TLDR
The main conclusions arrived at from the overall assessment of the literature are that more work needs to be done on degradation kinetics and reactor modeling of the combined process, and also dynamics of the initial attack on primary contaminants and intermediate species generation.About:

Green synthesis and influence of calcined temperature on the formation of novel porous diatomite microspheres for efficient adsorption of dyes
Shu Yan,Wenlong Huo,Jinlong Yang,Jinlong Yang,Jinlong Yang,Xiaoyan Zhang,Qinggang Wang,Lu Wang,Yiming Pan,Yong Huang +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of calcined temperatures on the microstructure, specific surface area and adsorption properties of the diatomite microspheres were investigated systematically, and the results showed that the porous micro-spheres exhibited spherical characteristic with both macropore and mesoporous features.

Assessment of solar driven TiO2-assisted photocatalysis efficiency on amoxicillin degradation.
TL;DR: Although the AMX degradation was mainly attributed to hydroxyl radicals, singlet oxygen also plays an important role in AMX self-photosensitization under UV/visible solar light.

Improving biodegradability of soil washing effluents using anodic oxidation
María Belén Carboneras,Pablo Cañizares,Manuel A. Rodrigo,José Villaseñor,Francisco Jesus Fernandez-Morales +4 more
TL;DR: It was observed that at the beginning of the electrolysis the toxicity slightly increased and the biodegradability decreases, but for electric current charges over 2.5 A·h dm-3 the toxicity drastically decreased, showing an EC50 of 143 mg L-1, and the BOD5/COD ratio increased from 0.02 to 0.23.
