Combination of Advanced Oxidation Processes and biological treatments for wastewater decontamination—A review
TLDR
The main conclusions arrived at from the overall assessment of the literature are that more work needs to be done on degradation kinetics and reactor modeling of the combined process, and also dynamics of the initial attack on primary contaminants and intermediate species generation.About:

Effect of Fenton's oxidation on the particle size distribution of organic carbon in olive mill wastewater.
TL;DR: Fenton's process could only be useful as an alternative preliminary treatment option of the required full treatment scheme that could involve a sequence of filtration, oxidation and/or biological treatment steps.

Degradation of Reactive Black 5 dye using anaerobic/aerobic membrane bioreactor (MBR) and photochemical membrane reactor.
TL;DR: Three different types of advance treatment methods were evaluated for the degradation of Reactive Black 5 and the immobilized cell Anaerobic MBR was found to be more advantageous, due to lower fouling rates in the membrane unit.

Degradation of chlorinated aromatics by fenton oxidation and methanogenic digester sludge
TL;DR: The methanogenic degradation of oxalate was found to be responsible for Oxalobacter formigenes and Methanobacterium -like methanogens in the digester sludge.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anaerobic transformation of chlorophenols in methanogenic sludge unexposed to chlorophenols.
TL;DR: The overall pathways of CP transformation were much less diverse than that the authors previously found for contaminated sediment and the Dolfing hypothesis of microbial selection of the most thermodynamically favorable pathways was not applicable for CP transformation.

Organic matter removal from wastewaters of the black olive industry by chemical and biological procedures
TL;DR: In this paper, a kinetic study was conducted using the Monod model, and rate constants were obtained in the range 0.061-0.015 min−1 achieved, indicating that some inhibition effects by substances present take place, and the application of the Levesnpiel model for that inhibitory effect leads to the determination of the rate constant, inhibitory parameter and critical substrate concentration of inhibition.
