Combination of Advanced Oxidation Processes and biological treatments for wastewater decontamination—A review

TLDR
The main conclusions arrived at from the overall assessment of the literature are that more work needs to be done on degradation kinetics and reactor modeling of the combined process, and also dynamics of the initial attack on primary contaminants and intermediate species generation.

Removal of veterinary antibiotics from sequencing batch reactor (SBR) pretreated swine wastewater by Fenton's reagent

TL;DR: This work demonstrates that the integrated process combining SBR with Fenton's reagent could provide comprehensive treatment to swine wastewater and helped to not only remove total organic carbon, heavy metals, and total phosphorus, but also inactivate bacteria and reduce wastewater toxicity.

Bezafibrate removal by means of ozonation: primary intermediates, kinetics, and toxicity assessment.

TL;DR: The results obtained in this work show that ozonation is an efficient method to degrade BZF: after 10 min of treatment, the complete BzF abatement is achieved, starting from an initial concentration of 0.5 mmol L(-1), and the assessment of by-products biodegradability and acute toxicity demonstrates that oz onation is a suitable technique to improve the biodegradation and reduce the toxicity of waters containing BZf.
