Photoacoustic Doppler effect from flowing small light-absorbing particles.

TL;DR: This new physical phenomenon provides a basis for developing photoacoustic Doppler flowmetry, which can potentially be used for detecting fluid flow in optically scattering media and especially low-speed blood flow of relatively deep microcirculation in biological tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of upper respiratory tract and ocular irritative effects of volatile chemicals in humans.

TL;DR: A major goal of this compendium is to inform the reader of procedures for assessing irritation in humans and to provide information of value in the continued interpretation and development of empirical databases upon which future reasoned regulatory health decisions can be made.
Journal ArticleDOI

Classification of carotid artery Doppler signals in the early phase of atherosclerosis using complex-valued artificial neural network

TL;DR: Results shown that PCA- CVANN and FCM-CVANN classified Doppler signals successfully and healthy and unhealthy subjects for training and test data with about 100% correct classification rate.

Développement d'une instrumentation ultrasonore pour la mesure des vitesses des liquides au-delà de la limite de Nyquist par une approche spectrale

TL;DR: In this article, an algorithm for suppression du bruit blanc, basee sur l'identification parametrique de la DSP, is proposed. Butt et al. propose an algorithme original de reconstruction spectrale de puissance (DSP) de ce signal peut etre modelisee par une gaussien.

A simplified approach to vertical infraclavicular brachial plexus blockade using hand-held Doppler.

TL;DR: Using the Doppler point for insertion resulted in a significantly more lateral entry point compared with the classical point (P < 0.001) and was associated with a high success rate of infraclavicular block.
