Frequency measurements of some optically-pumped laser lines in CH3OD

TLDR
In this paper, the frequencies of four lasing transitions in CH 3 OD have been measured to accuracies of a few parts in 10 7 by comparison with a microwave oscillator near 20 GHz via a Josephson harmonic mixer.

A review of frequency measurements of optically pumped lasers from 0.1 to 8 THz

TL;DR: In this paper, a list of more than 800 far-infrared laser lines emitted by optically pumped molecular lasers whose frequencies have been measured is presented, accompanied by a survey of the techniques of frequency measurement in the far infrared.
Journal ArticleDOI

A review of optically pumped far-infrared laser lines from methanol isotopes

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of FIR laser lines from CH[sub 3]OH was presented, and the authors extended this work to the other methanol isotopes, namely CH[ sub 3]OD, CD[sub 2]OH, CHD[sub 1]OD and CHD [sub 2]-OD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Far infrared laser lines produced by methanol and its isotopic species: a review

TL;DR: In this article, the authors extended the review to various isotopic modifications of this molecule (namely, 13CH3OH, CD3H,13CDH, CDH3OD, 13CDHOD, 14CH3HOD and 14CHHOD), a total of nearly 2000 lines with wavelengths ranging from 19 µm to 3030µm.

Optical Frequency Metrology with Solid State Lasers

TL;DR: In this paper, a direct measurement of the zero crossings of the beat signal between two optical frequencies is performed with radio frequency accuracy that is to better than 1 Hz, that is, the measurement of optical frequencies therefore only is limited by the frequency standard.
Journal ArticleDOI

The EPR and LMR spectra of the DO2 radical: Determination of ground-state parameters

TL;DR: In this paper, the detection of lines in both the gas phase EPR spectrum at 9 GHz and the far-infrared LMR spectrum of the DO2 radical is reported, fitted with an appropriate Hamiltonian and several parameters for the molecule in the X 2 A″ state are determined.

Optically Pumped Submillimeter-Wave Sources

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed very stable CW operation, very high pulsed output, linear polarization, high gain, and many other advantages over discharge excitation over the submillimeter-wave region.

Off‐resonant infrared laser action in NH3 and C2H4 without population inversion

TL;DR: In this paper, several new infrared laser lines in CO2-laser-pumped NH3 and C2H4 were observed under conditions that preclude population inversion, and the emission frequency was found to be off resonant by roughly the same amount as the pump frequency.

Direct 825th harmonic mixing of a 1 GHz source with an HCN laser in a Josephson junction

TL;DR: In this article, the maximum IF output powers obtained in these and other harmonic mixing experiments (using the same laser) were found to agree quite well with a simple theory which predicts a limit proportional to the square of the frequency being multiplied in the Josephson junction.

Anisotropic gain in an optically pumped cw FIR laser

TL;DR: In this article, the observed asymmetry of tuning curves of a 70.6 μm CH 3 OH laser is interpreted as a consequence of unidirectional amplification in the optically pumped gas, a quantum mechanical double resonance effect.
