Gene expression and angiotropism in primary CNS lymphoma

TLDR
It is demonstrated that interleukin-4 (IL-4) is expressed by tumor vasculature as well as by tumor cells in CNS lymphomas, and high expression of activated STAT6 in tumors was associated with short survival in an independent set of patients with primary CNS lymphoma who were treated with high-dose intravenous methotrexate therapy.

The 2008 WHO classification of lymphoid neoplasms and beyond: evolving concepts and practical applications.

TL;DR: The criteria and significance of early or precursor lesions and the identification of certain lymphoid neoplasms largely associated with particular age groups, such as children and the elderly are addressed, and the issue of borderline categories having overlapping features with large B-cell lymphomas is reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Primary central nervous system lymphoma.

TL;DR: The differential diagnosis of PCNSL includes central nervous system gliomas, metastatic tumors, demyelinating disorders, subacute infarcts, and space-occupied lesions due to an infectious etiology.

Intensive Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Primary CNS Lymphoma: CALGB 50202 (Alliance 50202)

TL;DR: It is demonstrated for the first time to the authors' knowledge that dose-intensive consolidation for PCNSL is feasible in the multicenter setting and yields rates of PFS and OS at least comparable to those of regimens involving WBRT.

Analysis of relative gene expression data using real-time quantitative pcr and the 2(-delta delta c(t)) method

TL;DR: The 2-Delta Delta C(T) method as mentioned in this paper was proposed to analyze the relative changes in gene expression from real-time quantitative PCR experiments, and it has been shown to be useful in the analysis of realtime, quantitative PCR data.

Controlling the false discovery rate: a practical and powerful approach to multiple testing

TL;DR: In this paper, a different approach to problems of multiple significance testing is presented, which calls for controlling the expected proportion of falsely rejected hypotheses -the false discovery rate, which is equivalent to the FWER when all hypotheses are true but is smaller otherwise.

R: A Language for Data Analysis and Graphics

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss their experience designing and implementing a statistical computing language, which combines what they felt were useful features from two existing computer languages, and they feel that the new language provides advantages in the areas of portability, computational efficiency, memory management, and scope.

Normalization for cDNA microarray data: a robust composite method addressing single and multiple slide systematic variation

TL;DR: This article proposes normalization methods that are based on robust local regression and account for intensity and spatial dependence in dye biases for different types of cDNA microarray experiments.
