Abstract
This new edition is divided into 15 units and each unit has its own divided chapters, altogether consisting of 85 chapters. Unit I is an introduction to physiology consisting of 3 chapters: The cell and general physiology. Unit II addresses membrane physiology, nerve, and muscle, consisting of 5 chapters. Unit VIII has 2 chapters addressing to aviation, space, and deep sea diving physiology. It has a section on hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Units IX, X, and XI concern the physiology of the nervous system consisting of 17 chapters which elegantly review different aspects of the human nervous system. All topics discussed are relevant to daily practicing physician/scientist. One example is the important role of thyroid hormone on the growth and development of the brain during fetal, neonatal, and infantile periods, which needs to be emphasized and remembered because of its grave consequences resulting in cretinism.

Changes in the Welfare of an Injured Working Farm Dog Assessed Using the Five Domains Model

TL;DR: This welfare evaluation of an injured working farm dog using the Five Domains Model is the first to use the most up-to-date version of the Model, and stands as a detailed example that may assist others undertaking such welfare evaluations in other species and contexts.

Myocardial effective transverse relaxation time T2* Correlates with left ventricular wall thickness: A 7.0 T MRI study

TL;DR: The relationship between T2* and cardiac macromorphology given by left ventricular (LV) wall thickness andleft ventricular radius is investigated, and interpretation of the results in the physiological context is provided.

Visual event-related potential studies supporting the validity of VARK learning styles' visual and read/write learners.

TL;DR: The results revealed the first objective electrophysiological evidence partially supporting the validity of the subjective psychological VARK questionnaire study and indicated that the P200 amplitude at the parietal 4 site could be used to objectively distinguish V learners from R learners.

Undernutrition and associated factors among adults living with Human Immune Deficiency Virus in Dembia District, northwest Ethiopia: an institution based cross-sectional study

TL;DR: The prevalence of undernutrition among HIV positive adults was higher in the study area, and being in the age range of 18-29 years, widowed, anemic, and having a CD4 count of less than 200 cells/mm3 were positively associated with undernutrition.
