Abstract
This new edition is divided into 15 units and each unit has its own divided chapters, altogether consisting of 85 chapters. Unit I is an introduction to physiology consisting of 3 chapters: The cell and general physiology. Unit II addresses membrane physiology, nerve, and muscle, consisting of 5 chapters. Unit VIII has 2 chapters addressing to aviation, space, and deep sea diving physiology. It has a section on hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Units IX, X, and XI concern the physiology of the nervous system consisting of 17 chapters which elegantly review different aspects of the human nervous system. All topics discussed are relevant to daily practicing physician/scientist. One example is the important role of thyroid hormone on the growth and development of the brain during fetal, neonatal, and infantile periods, which needs to be emphasized and remembered because of its grave consequences resulting in cretinism.

Motion Noise Cancelation in Heartbeat Sensing using Accelerometer and Adaptive Filter

TL;DR: This letter focuses on suppressing the motion artifact of wrist photoplethysmographic heart rate signals using an accelerometer based adaptive filter and presented a comparison on utilized filters that can be used for recovering of the heart rate signal.

In vivo response of AZ31 alloy as biliary stents: a 6 months evaluation in rabbits.

TL;DR: AZ31 stents were implanted into the common bile duct of rabbits for 6 months and nonuniform corrosion at the two ends of the stents was observed and the results revealed an existence of 93.82% and 30.46% of the original volume after 1 and 3 month, respectively.

Relationship between Aortic Compliance and Impact of Cerebral Blood Flow Fluctuation to Dynamic Orthostatic Challenge in Endurance Athletes.

TL;DR: The results suggest that the aortic compliance in the endurance athletes is able to accommodate the additional SV and buffer the potential increase in pulsatility at end-organs such as the brain.

Neurogenic tumors and tumor-like lesions of the oral and maxillofacial region: A clinicopathological study.

TL;DR: This analysis showed that neural lesions affecting the oral and maxillofacial region were rare and mostly benign in nature.
