TLDR
In this paper, an experimental study was carried out on a turbocharged gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine fueled by n-butanol/gasoline blends, and the results indicated that the nbutanol fraction increased combustion pressure and pressure rise rate, fasten burning rate, and shorten ignition delay and combustion duration, as compared to pure gasoline.

Effects of spark timing and methanol addition on combustion characteristics and emissions of dual-fuel engine fuelled with natural gas and methanol under lean-burn condition

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of spark timing and methanol addition on the combustion characteristics and emissions of a natural gas/methanol dual-fuel engine were investigated, and the results demonstrated that for a specific spark timing, the methanoline addition increases the peak cylinder pressure, the maximum of the heat release rate, and peak cylinder mean temperature.
