In this article, the detailed structure of the interaction of a strong stellar wind with the interstellar medium is presented, including the effects of thermal conduction between the hot interior and the cold shell of swept-up interstellar matter.Abstract:
The detailed structure of the interaction of a strong stellar wind with the interstellar medium is presented. First, an adiabatic similarity solution is given which is applicable at early times. Second, a similarity solution is derived which includes the effects of thermal conduction between the hot (about 1 million K) interior and the cold shell of swept-up interstellar matter. This solution is then modified to include the effects of radiative energy losses. The evolution of an interstellar bubble is calculated, including the radiative losses. The quantitative results for the outer-shell radius and velocity and the column density of highly ionized species such as O VI are within a factor 2 of the approximate results of Castor, McCray, and Weaver (1975). The effect of stellar motion on the structure of a bubble, the hydrodynamic stability of the outer shell, and the observable properties of the hot region and the outer shell are discussed.read more

Simulations of the formation and evolution of isolated dwarf galaxies – II. Angular momentum as a second parameter
TL;DR: In this article, a large suite of N-body/smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations of isolated, flat dwarf galaxies, both rotating and non-rotating, were used to investigate possible mechanisms to explain the observed dichotomy in radial stellar metallicity profiles of dwarf galaxies.

A RUNAWAY WOLF-RAYET STAR AS THE ORIGIN OF 26Al IN THE EARLY SOLAR SYSTEM
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors address the issue of the incorporation of hot 26Al-rich stellar ejecta into the cold protosolar nebula and show that the 26Al atoms produced by a population of massive stars in an OB association cannot be injected into protostellar cores with enough efficiency.

Gamma-Ray Burst Afterglows in Pulsar-Wind Bubbles

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify pulsar-wind bubbles (PWBs) as the environment in which the afterglow emission in at least some gamma-ray burst (GRB) sources originates.

Probing Star Formation at Low Metallicity: The Radio Emission of Super Star Clusters in SBS?0335?052
TL;DR: In this paper, high-resolution radio-continuum observations of the nascent starburst in the metal-poor galaxy SBS 0335-052 were presented, where two discrete and luminous star-forming regions are detected in the south of the galaxy that appear to be associated with massive star clusters previously identified at optical wavelengths.
