Abstract
The detailed structure of the interaction of a strong stellar wind with the interstellar medium is presented. First, an adiabatic similarity solution is given which is applicable at early times. Second, a similarity solution is derived which includes the effects of thermal conduction between the hot (about 1 million K) interior and the cold shell of swept-up interstellar matter. This solution is then modified to include the effects of radiative energy losses. The evolution of an interstellar bubble is calculated, including the radiative losses. The quantitative results for the outer-shell radius and velocity and the column density of highly ionized species such as O VI are within a factor 2 of the approximate results of Castor, McCray, and Weaver (1975). The effect of stellar motion on the structure of a bubble, the hydrodynamic stability of the outer shell, and the observable properties of the hot region and the outer shell are discussed.

The Stellar Population and Star Clusters in the Unusual Local Group Galaxy IC 10

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used HST U,V,I,I and Halpha images of the peculiar Local Group irregular galaxy IC 10 to determine the nature of the stellar products in a portion of the recent starburst in this galaxy.

O VI, N V, and C IV in the Galactic Halo. I. Velocity-Dependent Ionization Models

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore theoretical models of the ionization ratios of the Li-like absorbers N V, O VI, and C IV, in the Galactic halo and compare these models with ionization ratio data from Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) and Hubble Space Telescope.

Acceleration of cosmic rays and gamma-ray emission from supernova remnants in the Galaxy

TL;DR: In this article, the authors adopt a different approach and, instead of a case-by-case study, aim for a population study and compute the number of supernova remnants which are expected to be seen in TeV gamma rays above a given flux under the assumption that these objects indeed are the sources of cosmic rays.

Detection of the Winds from the Exciting Sources of Shell H II Regions in NGC 6334

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present results of high-sensitivity, high-resolution, multifrequency VLA observations toward the star-forming complex NGC 6334, and find that the H II region NGC6334E, previously described as spherical, has a shell-like morphology.
