Introduction to Magnetic Materials

TLDR
In this paper, the authors present materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.
Abstract
Introduction to Magnetic Materials, 2nd Edition covers the basics of magnetic quantities, magnetic devices, and materials used in practice. While retaining much of the original, this revision now covers SQUID and alternating gradient magnetometers, magnetic force microscope, Kerr effect, amorphous alloys, rare-earth magnets, SI Units alongside cgs units, and other up-to-date topics. In addition, the authors have added an entirely new chapter on information materials. The text presents materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.

A pT/√Hz sensitivity ac magnetic field sensor based on magnetoelectric composites using low-loss piezoelectric single crystals

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported an ac magnetic field sensor with pT/√Hz sensitivity based on self-biased magnetoelectric composites made using Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbZrO3 -PbTiO3 (PMN-PZT) single crystals in macro-fiber form and a magnetostrictive Ni plate.

Magnetic and microwave absorption properties of FeNi3/NiFe2O4 composites synthesized by solution combustion method

TL;DR: In this paper, a solution combustion process was conducted in a closed system by use of conventional and microwave heating, and phase evolution, microstructure, magnetic and microwave absorption properties were studied by X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry and vector network analyzer techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

The internal structure of magnetic nanoparticles determines the magnetic response

TL;DR: The highest saturation magnetization (Ms) was measured for the smallest but well-crystalline NPs, while the larger NPs exhibiting worse crystallinity revealed a lower Ms.
