Introduction to Magnetic Materials

TLDR
In this paper, the authors present materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.
Abstract
Introduction to Magnetic Materials, 2nd Edition covers the basics of magnetic quantities, magnetic devices, and materials used in practice. While retaining much of the original, this revision now covers SQUID and alternating gradient magnetometers, magnetic force microscope, Kerr effect, amorphous alloys, rare-earth magnets, SI Units alongside cgs units, and other up-to-date topics. In addition, the authors have added an entirely new chapter on information materials. The text presents materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.

Evidence of spin disorder at the surface–core interface of oxygen passivated Fe nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, a spin-glass-like state of the oxide layer inducing, through exchange interaction with the ferromagnetic core, a shift of the field cooled hysteresis loops at temperatures below the freezing at approximately 50 K.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation of magnetic nanoparticles by low energy dual implantation of Ni and Fe into SiO2

TL;DR: In this paper, a bimodal size distribution was observed with large isolated particles closer to the surface and smaller nanoparticles further into the SiO 2 film after electron beam annealing (EBA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Modeling the Coupled Strain and Magnetization Response of Magnetic Shape Memory Alloys under Magnetomechanical Loading

TL;DR: In this article, a model of the magnetic shape memory alloy (MSMA) constitutive response caused by the reorientation of martensitic variants under mechanical and magnetic fields is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electrodeposited nickel and gold nanoscale metal meshes with potentially interesting photonic properties

TL;DR: Nickel and gold meshes having three-dimensional periodicity at different wavelengths and nanoscale structural fidelity have been prepared byelectrodeposition within close-packed silica sphere arrays.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of oxygen vacancy and dopant concentration on the magnetic properties of high spin Co2+ doped TiO2 nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported that oxygen vacancy and cobalt aggregates are a key factor for inducing superparamagnetism in the vacuum annealed sample of Co doped TiO 2 nanoparticles.
