Introduction to Magnetic Materials
B. D. Cullity,C. D. Graham +1 more
TLDR
In this paper, the authors present materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.Abstract:
Introduction to Magnetic Materials, 2nd Edition covers the basics of magnetic quantities, magnetic devices, and materials used in practice. While retaining much of the original, this revision now covers SQUID and alternating gradient magnetometers, magnetic force microscope, Kerr effect, amorphous alloys, rare-earth magnets, SI Units alongside cgs units, and other up-to-date topics. In addition, the authors have added an entirely new chapter on information materials. The text presents materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.read more

Anomalous variation of coercivity with annealing in nanocrystalline NiZn ferrite films
Mrugesh Desai,Shiva Prasad,N. Venkataramani,Indradev Samajdar,A. K. Nigam,Niels Keller,R. Krishnan,E. M. Baggio-Saitovitch,B. R. Pujada,Antonio Rossi +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the sputter deposited NiZn ferrite thin films were studied as a function of annealing temperature and the magnetization showed a monotonic increase with increasing annaling temperature, which could be attributed to defects present in the films, the change in cation distribution, and the grain growth.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation and study of magnetic properties of silico phosphate glass and glass-ceramics having iron and zinc oxide
Kuldeep Sharma,Sher Singh,C.L. Prajapat,Shovit Bhattacharya,Jagannath,M. R. Singh,S. M. Yusuf,G.P. Kothiyal +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic properties of glass and glass-ceramics have been studied by means of a Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) magnetometer.

Superficial severe plastic deformation of 316 LVM stainless steel through grit blasting: Effects on its microstructure and subsurface mechanical properties
Marta Multigner,Marta Multigner,Silvia Ferreira-Barragáns,E. Frutos,E. Frutos,Miriam Jaafar,Joaquín Ibáñez,Pilar Marín,María Teresa Pérez-Prado,Gaspar González-Doncel,Agustina Asenjo,José Luis González-Carrasco,José Luis González-Carrasco +12 more
TL;DR: The microstructure and mechanical properties of austenitic stainless steel 316 LVM (Low Vacuum Melting) blasted with either small and rounded ZrO2 particles or larger and angular shaped Al2O3 particles are analyzed through magnetic force microscopy, synchrotron radiation diffraction and ultramicroindentation techniques.

Modification of dielectric and mechanical properties of rubber ferrite composites containing manganese zinc ferrite
TL;DR: In this paper, a program based on G programming was developed with the aid of LabVIEW package to automate the dielectric measurements of mixed ferrites belonging to the series Mn(1−x)ZnxFe2O4 (MZF) were synthesized for different ‘x' values in steps of 0.2.
