Introduction to Magnetic Materials
B. D. Cullity,C. D. Graham +1 more
TLDR
In this paper, the authors present materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.Abstract:
Introduction to Magnetic Materials, 2nd Edition covers the basics of magnetic quantities, magnetic devices, and materials used in practice. While retaining much of the original, this revision now covers SQUID and alternating gradient magnetometers, magnetic force microscope, Kerr effect, amorphous alloys, rare-earth magnets, SI Units alongside cgs units, and other up-to-date topics. In addition, the authors have added an entirely new chapter on information materials. The text presents materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.read more

Substitutional effect on structural and dielectric properties of Ni1−xAxFe2O4 (A = Mg, Zn) mixed spinel ferrites
Dinesh Varshney,Kavita Verma +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the Ni1−xAxFe2O4 (A = Zn, Mg; x = 0.5) was synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method and X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy reveals that all the samples are in single-phase cubic spinel structure with Fd3m space group.

Field dependent transition to the non-linear regime in magnetic hyperthermia experiments: Comparison between maghemite, copper, zinc, nickel and cobalt ferrite nanoparticles of similar sizes
E. L. Verde,Gabriel T. Landi,Marcus S. Carrião,A. L. Drummond,Juliano de Andrade Gomes,E. D. Vieira,Marcelo Henrique Sousa,Andris F. Bakuzis +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the heating properties of cobalt ferrite and maghemite nanoparticles were investigated under the influence of a 500 kHz sinusoidal magnetic field with varying amplitude, up to 134 Oe.

On the role of residual internal stresses and dislocations on Barkhausen noise in plastically deformed steel
Xavier Kleber,A. Vincent +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the dependence of Barkhausen noise on elastic and plastic deformations, achieved in tension and in compression, has been investigated both in Armco iron and a low carbon steel.

Effect of heat treatment on the magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of cobalt ferrite
Ikenna C. Nlebedim,N. Ranvah,P. I. Williams,Yevgen Melikhov,John Evan Snyder,Anthony John Moses,David Jiles +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of different heat treatments on the magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of highly magnetostrictive CoFe(2)O(4) has been investigated.

Role of interfacial uncompensated antiferromagnetic spins in unidirectional anisotropy in Ni81Fe19/CoO bilayers (invited)
TL;DR: In this paper, a model based on a calculation of the density of these interfacial uncompensated spins predicts the correct magnitude of the exchange field, as well as the observed inverse dependence on average interfacial grain size.
