Introduction to Magnetic Materials

TLDR
In this paper, the authors present materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.
Abstract
Introduction to Magnetic Materials, 2nd Edition covers the basics of magnetic quantities, magnetic devices, and materials used in practice. While retaining much of the original, this revision now covers SQUID and alternating gradient magnetometers, magnetic force microscope, Kerr effect, amorphous alloys, rare-earth magnets, SI Units alongside cgs units, and other up-to-date topics. In addition, the authors have added an entirely new chapter on information materials. The text presents materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students.

Assessment of microstructures and mechanical behaviour of metallic materials through non-destructive characterisation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the progress made in the application of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques in evaluating various microstructural features and mechanical properties with emphasis on recent studies.
Book ChapterDOI

Magnetic Shape Memory Phenomena

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors described the magnetic shape memory effect in Ni-Mn-Ga alloys, which includes two different phenomena: a magnetically induced structural phase transformation (usually a martensitic transformation) and a magnetic reorientation occurring in the Martensitic phase.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel behaviors of multiferroic properties in Na-Doped BiFeO3 nanoparticles

TL;DR: The interplay of oxygen vacancies and holes was analyzed and a phenomenological qualitative model based on the electronic energy band proposed and the decrease of band gap and leakage current density with the increase of Na content was explained.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of bimetallic (Ca, Mg) substitution on magneto-optical properties of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, a co-substitution effect on morphological, structural, optical and magnetic properties of NiFe2O4 NPs was analyzed via FT-IR, XRD, TEM, SEM, DRS and VSM techniques.

Measurements of magnetic materials

Fausto Fiorillo
- 01 Apr 2010 -
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed discussion of the magnetic properties of soft and hard ferromagnetic materials relevant for electromagnetic applications is given, and a brief consideration is given to the special problems posed by measurements on feebly magnetic materials.
