Interfacial segregation and precipitates behavior in the ultrafine grained Al-based metal matrix composites
Chuandong Wu,Chuandong Wu,Jian Zhang,Guoqiang Luo,Qiang Shen,Zhanghua Gan,Jing Liu,Lianmeng Zhang +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the AA7075/B4C composite was selected as the model system to provide insight into interfacial segregation and precipitates behavior in the ultrafine grained Al-based metal matrix composites, and representative TEM results showed that the spherical GP zone and platelet η′ precipitates distributed in grain interior, while several coarser η precipitates located at LAGB and HAGB with the orientation relationship of (0001)//(1 1 ( _ ) 1) and [10 1 ( ) 0]η//[110]Al

Temperature-affected microstructural stability of coherent cuboidal B2 particles in precipitation-strengthened body-centered-cubic Al0.7CoCr2FeNi high-entropy alloy
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the temperature-affected microstructural stability of coherent cuboidal B2 nanoprecipitates in the body-centered-cubic (BCC)-based Al0.7CoCr2FeNi high-entropy alloy with temperature.

Effect of temperature and strain rate on the grain structure during the multi-directional forging of the AlZnMgCu alloy
TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-direction forging (MDF) at strain rates of 10−3 s−1, 5.5 s−4 s− 1 and at temperatures ranging from 300°C to 400°C were performed in the Al Zn Mg Cu alloy.

Influence of post-heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Cu-Mg-Zr alloy manufactured by selective laser melting
TL;DR: In this article , a simple direct aging regime was proposed to maintain the grain-boundary strengthening and to utilize the precipitation strengthening of secondary Al3Zr, which was found that a heterogeneous grain structure, which consisted of ultrafine equiaxed (∼0.82 μm) and columnar(∼1.80μm) grains at the bottom and top of molten pool, respectively, was formed in the SLM processed sample.

Melt spinning induces sub-micrometric/micrometric grained structure and dislocations in 7075 Al alloy
TL;DR: In this article, the microstructure and microhardness of an as-melt spun 7075 Al alloy were studied and the factors that affect grain size and dislocation density were analyzed and discussed.

X-ray line broadening from filed aluminium and wolfram
G.K Williamson,W.H Hall +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a Geiger counter spectrometer to measure the changes in intensity distribution in the spectra of cold worked aluminium and wolfram and found that the line breadths may be attributed to simultaneous small particle size and strain broadening, the latter predominating at the higher Bragg angles.

The Deformation and Ageing of Mild Steel: III Discussion of Results
TL;DR: In this paper, an attempt is made to explain the observed phenomena in the yielding and ageing of mild steel, described in two previous papers, in the general terms of a grain-boundary theory.
