Effect of microwave sintering over vacuum and conventional sintering of Cu based nanocomposites

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of microwave sintering on mechanical properties and electrical conductivity over vacuum and conventional Sintering carried out at 900°C was investigated and compared.

In-situ fabrication of nano-sized TiO2 reinforced Cu matrix composites with well-balanced mechanical properties and electrical conductivity

TL;DR: In this article, a facile in-situ method was proposed for the fabrication of Cu matrix composites reinforced with rutile-TiO 2 nanoparticles, which involved a molecular-level mixing process and subsequent vacuum hot-pressing sintering of the as-obtained composite powders, leading to dense bulk composites with homogeneously distributed TiO 2 particles.

Sumio Iijima
- 01 Nov 1991 -
TL;DR: Iijima et al. as mentioned in this paper reported the preparation of a new type of finite carbon structure consisting of needle-like tubes, which were produced using an arc-discharge evaporation method similar to that used for fullerene synthesis.

Introduction To Composite Materials

TL;DR: The combination of materials to form a new material system with enhanced material properties is a well documented historical fact as discussed by the authors, which is why many artisans from the Mediterranean and Far East used a form of composite technology in molding art works which were fabricated by layering cut paper in various sizes for producing desired shapes and contours.
