TLDR
In this paper, the authors studied how an oscillator reacts to internal noise that occurs in the active element of the oscillator and provided theoretical analysis to express the Leeson's model in a more general form.
Abstract
This paper is devoted to one aspect of the study of phase noise in oscillators: how an oscillator reacts to internal noise that occurs in the active element. The following theoretical analysis will lead us to express the Leeson's model in a more general form.

Measurement of Frequency Stability in Time and Frequency Domains via Filtering of Phase Noise

TL;DR: In this article, a test set based on high-pass filtering of phase noise was used to measure the short-term frequency instability of the best quartzcrystal oscillators in both time and frequency domains.
