TLDR
In this paper, the authors studied how an oscillator reacts to internal noise that occurs in the active element of the oscillator and provided theoretical analysis to express the Leeson's model in a more general form.
Abstract
This paper is devoted to one aspect of the study of phase noise in oscillators: how an oscillator reacts to internal noise that occurs in the active element. The following theoretical analysis will lead us to express the Leeson's model in a more general form.

Effects of gain compression, bias conditions, and temperature on the flicker phase noise of an 8.5 GHz GaAs MESFET amplifier

TL;DR: In this article, the phase noise of an 8.5 GHz MESFET was measured at temperatures from 1.7 K to 300 K for input powers from -30 dBm to well past the 1-dB gain compression point and for sideband frequencies from 0.1 Hz to 25 kHz.

Small packaged VCSO for 10[Gbit] Ethernet application

TL;DR: A small packaged VCSO (voltage controlled SAW oscillator) with a SAW (surface acoustic wave) resonator using high density surface mount technology is built to confirm that it could offer the same level of good linearity, wide pull range, and excellent frequency short-term stability as a VCXO, and that it can be of practical use.

Clarification and a generalized restatement of Leeson's oscillator noise model

B. Parzen
TL;DR: In this paper, a modified oscillator noise model based on oscillator analysis in the immittance domain is presented, which is used to set up and demonstrate the oscillator operation in accordance with the model.
