A reflectometer for the assessment of surface texture
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple optical-mechanical instrument which gives a rapid assessment of the surface texture of machined surfaces is described. The action of the instrument depends on the variation of the specular reflexion of the surfaces with varying angle of incidence, assessed by observation of the variation in the definition of the images from an illuminated screen consisting of a series of lines.

The influence of surface roughness on the lubrication breakdown in upsetting between overhanging dies
