Sustainable production of curable maltodextrin-based electrospun microfibers
TL;DR: In this article , the same maltodextrin-containing water solutions with citric acid added were then processed again, and the results showed that the presence of hydroxyl functions along the maltodesxtrin's backbone enables cross-linking reactions to be performed, necessary to overcome the intrinsic solubility of the starting material.
Journal ArticleDOI
The development of recycling methods for bio-based materials – A challenge in the implementation of a circular economy: A review
TL;DR: In this article , the characteristics of the most widely used biopolymers that contain starch, polylactic acid, cellulose and/or polybutylene succinate are discussed.

Composites reinforced with cellulose based fibres
TL;DR: In this article, a survey about physical and chemical treatment methods which improve the fiber matrix adhesion, their results and effects on the physical properties of composites is presented, and the influence of such treatments by taking into account fibre content on the creep, quasi-static, cyclic dynamic and impact behaviour of natural fibre reinforced plastics are discussed in detail.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biocomposites reinforced with natural fibers: 2000–2010
TL;DR: A comprehensive review of literature on bio-fiber reinforced composites is presented in this paper, where the overall characteristics of reinforcing fibers used in biocomposites, including source, type, structure, composition, as well as mechanical properties, are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biofibres, biodegradable polymers and biocomposites: An overview

Polymer blends and composites from renewable resources
Long Yu,Katherine Dean,Lin Li +2 more
TL;DR: A review of polymer blends and composites from renewable resources can be found in this article, where the progress of blends from three kinds of polymers from renewable sources (i.e., natural polymers such as starch, protein and cellulose), synthetic polymers, such as polylactic acid and polyhydroxybutyrate, are described with an emphasis on potential applications.
