Sasank Kalipatnapu,Jonathan Sadhu Reddipogu,Sam Varghese George,Vijay Abraham,Inian Samarasam +4 more
TL;DR: An overview of corrosive injuries is provided and a management plan for corrosive injured patients is provided to provide a rapid assessment and appropriate management.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Study of Open Versus Laparoscopic Appendicectomy
TL;DR: Comparing the results of LA with that of OA in terms of operating time, post-operative pain, wound infection, duration of hospital stay and time to return to usual activities shows no much of differences between outcomes and laparoscopic is little advantageous.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of rare and atypical inguinal hernias: our experience at a tertiary care centre
TL;DR: Inguinal hernias present along a spectrum of scenarios, and around 30% of these cases present asymptomatically, and upto 50% of them are unaware of the hernia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical Outcomes and Costs of Laparoscopic Versus Open Appendectomy for Appendicitis
Chang Sik Shin,Jae Il Kim,Young-Nam Roh,Pyong Wha Choi,Tae Gil Heo,Je Hoon Park,Myung Soo Lee +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that LA is the procedure of choice for patients with complicated appendicitis, and clinical outcomes were better in the LA than in the OA group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of the role of pre-operative albumin and its post-operative drop in the prediction of outcomes of emergency laparotomy
TL;DR: Complications following laparotomy vary from pain, wound infection and dehiscence, bleeding, bowel complications such as anastomotic leaks to systemic complicationssuch as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), acute kidney injury (AKI), pulmonary thromboembolism and death.

Journal ArticleDOI
Neuroendocrine Tumors of the Pancreas
TL;DR: Although tumor origin and molecular pathogenesis remain poorly understood, recently established grading and staging systems facilitate patient risk stratification, and thereby directly impact clinical decision making, surgery remains the only curative treatment for early-stage disease.
Journal Article
Pancreatic cancer: diagnosis and management.

Treatment of malignant pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma with cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and dacarbazine: recommendation from a 22-year follow-up of 18 patients.
Hui Huang,Jame Abraham,Elizabeth Hung,Steven D. Averbuch,Maria J. Merino,Seth M. Steinberg,Karel Pacak,Tito Fojo +7 more
TL;DR: A long‐term follow‐up was conducted of 18 patients with a diagnosis of pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma treated with a combination of cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and dacarbazine (CVD).
Journal ArticleDOI
Inflammatory mechanisms contributing to pancreatic cancer development.
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that similar inflammatory components and downstream effectors are present in CP and pancreatic cancers, and suggest that a common pathway for pancreatic cancer development may be through a chronic inflammatory process including stroma formation.
