TL;DR: The epidemiology of hernia repair (retrospective review) over 30 years is investigated to determine whether the relative frequencies of hernias are evolving and contrasts with hernia incidence figures quoted in common reference books.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuroendocrine Tumors of the Pancreas
TL;DR: Although tumor origin and molecular pathogenesis remain poorly understood, recently established grading and staging systems facilitate patient risk stratification, and thereby directly impact clinical decision making, surgery remains the only curative treatment for early-stage disease.

Inflammatory mechanisms contributing to pancreatic cancer development.

Journal ArticleDOI
The Comparison of Scintigraphic and Ultrasonographic Evaluation Criteria of Thyroid Nodules with Histopathologic Findings
TL;DR: The combination of two or more of these USG findings may suggest an increased risk of thyroid cancer and fine needle aspiration biopsy is still the most important diagnostic method in the diagnosis of thyroid malignancies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of periampullary adenocarcinoma by pancreaticoduodenectomy at a regional teaching hospital
Brian McKinley,Simon Lehtinen,Scott Davis,Justin Collins,Dawn W. Blackhurst,Christine Schammel,David P. Schammel,Steven D. Trocha +7 more
TL;DR: Use of techniques focusing on clearing the SMA margin would result in higher R0 resection rates and improved survival after PD in patients with PA, and areas of potential improvement in the ways in which operative and pathology reports for PD are generated are identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anal Myolipoma: A New Benign Entity in Patients with an Anal Tumor?
TL;DR: To the knowledge, this is the first reported case of a myolipoma arising from the anus, so such a possibility needs to be considered in the differential diagnosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
