TLDR
Among the possible subcarrier mapping approaches, it is found that localizedFDMA (LFDMA) with channel-dependent scheduling (CDS) results in higher throughput than interleaved FDMA (JFDMA), however, the PARR performance of IFDMA is better than that of LFDMA.

Sparse Channel Estimation of Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access Based on Compressive Sensing

TL;DR: Simulation results show that the proposed compressive sensing for sparse channel estimation in a SC-FDMA system can achieve significantly improved performance in a frequency selective fading sparse channel with fewer pilots.

60 GHz millimeter-wave bottom-layer solutions: Multiplexing access, energy awareness, and peak-to-average-power ratio

TL;DR: It is shown that the multiplexing protocol has advantages over TDMA, self-sustainability is feasible, and SC-FDMA reduces the PAPR of the modulated signal.

Filter Bank-based Multiple Access in Next Generation Satellite Uplinks: A DVB-RCS2-based Experimental Study

TL;DR: A comparative study, based on total degradation (TD), of frequency division multiple access (FDMA) schemes employing offset quadrature amplitude modulation-based filter bank multicarrier (FBMC/OQAM), classical orthogonal FDMA (OFDMA) and their single-carrier counterparts, to illustrate the potential gains from the integration of the FBMC waveforms in the satellite context and standards.

Systems/methods of adaptively varying a spectral content of communications

TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral content of a baseband waveform is varied and a measure of the BS waveform whose spectral content has been varied is used by a transmitter in order to convey information.

Multi-Cell Uplink Radio Resource Management. A LTE Case Study

TL;DR: This study explores the enhancement of LTE network in the Uplink (UL) direction at system level in the UL LTE and the interaction of antenna downtilting together with UL Fractional Power Control (FPC) is also analyzed.

Frequency domain equalization for single-carrier broadband wireless systems

TL;DR: This article surveys frequency domain equalization (FDE) applied to single-carrier (SC) modulation solutions and discusses similarities and differences of SC and OFDM systems and coexistence possibilities, and presents examples of SC-FDE performance capabilities.

Transmission techniques for digital terrestrial TV broadcasting

TL;DR: The authors discuss the potential of OFDM signaling, with its limitations and inherent problems, as well as another potential technique that has so far been overlooked: single-carrier transmission with frequency- domain equalization, and introduces coded-OFDM (COFDM), which makes use of channel coding and frequency-domain interleaving.

Fair multiuser channel allocation for OFDMA networks using Nash bargaining solutions and coalitions

TL;DR: The proposed algorithms not only provide fair resource allocation among users, but also have a comparable overall system rate with the scheme maximizing the total rate without considering fairness, and have much higher rates than that of the scheme with max-min fairness.

Technical solutions for the 3G long-term evolution

TL;DR: Promising technologies to fulfil 3G evolution targets are presented, including OFDM, multi-antenna solutions, evolved QoS and link layer concepts, and an evolved architecture, indicating that the requirements can indeed be reached using the proposed technologies.
