TLDR
Among the possible subcarrier mapping approaches, it is found that localizedFDMA (LFDMA) with channel-dependent scheduling (CDS) results in higher throughput than interleaved FDMA (JFDMA), however, the PARR performance of IFDMA is better than that of LFDMA.

An alternative multiple access scheme for the uplink 3GPP/LTE based on OFDM/OQAM

TL;DR: This paper proposes to combine OFDM/OQAM with Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) to get an alternative to the well-known Orthogonal Frequency Division multiple access techniques for the uplink (UL) transmission in the 3GPP/LTE context and names this alternative OQAMA.

C-band digital aeronautical communication for unmanned aircraft systems

TL;DR: This paper discusses the application of OFDM- and SC-FDMA-based communication links and test them against three flight scenarios: en-route, take-off and landing, and airport using Monte-Carlo simulations and suggests different coding schemes and shows that iterative decoding processes have disadvantages in case of insufficient channel estimation.

Closed-Form BER Expression for Interleaved SC-FDMA with M-QAM

TL;DR: This study provides the mathematical grounds to obtain a closed-form expression for the BER for BPSK and square M-QAM in an interleaved SC-FDMA system over a fading channel.

Improving Energy Efficiency and Scalability for IoT Communications in 5G Networks

TL;DR: The Enhanced OEA (Opportunistic Efficient Allocation) algorithm has been proposed to advance SC-FDMA for 5G uplink transmission, and improves both decision metric and algorithm design, resulting in smaller computation complexity than the original OEA algorithm.

Channel and Bit Adaptive Power Control Strategy for Uplink NOMA VLC Systems

TL;DR: A channel and bit adaptive power control strategy for uplink NOMA VLC systems is proposed by jointly considering the channel state information and the transmission bit rate and it is proved that the received signal at the photodiode receiver constitutes a sizeable pulse amplitude modulation constellation and low-complexity maximum likelihood detection is admitted.

Frequency domain equalization for single-carrier broadband wireless systems

TL;DR: This article surveys frequency domain equalization (FDE) applied to single-carrier (SC) modulation solutions and discusses similarities and differences of SC and OFDM systems and coexistence possibilities, and presents examples of SC-FDE performance capabilities.

Transmission techniques for digital terrestrial TV broadcasting

TL;DR: The authors discuss the potential of OFDM signaling, with its limitations and inherent problems, as well as another potential technique that has so far been overlooked: single-carrier transmission with frequency- domain equalization, and introduces coded-OFDM (COFDM), which makes use of channel coding and frequency-domain interleaving.

Fair multiuser channel allocation for OFDMA networks using Nash bargaining solutions and coalitions

TL;DR: The proposed algorithms not only provide fair resource allocation among users, but also have a comparable overall system rate with the scheme maximizing the total rate without considering fairness, and have much higher rates than that of the scheme with max-min fairness.

Technical solutions for the 3G long-term evolution

TL;DR: Promising technologies to fulfil 3G evolution targets are presented, including OFDM, multi-antenna solutions, evolved QoS and link layer concepts, and an evolved architecture, indicating that the requirements can indeed be reached using the proposed technologies.
