TLDR
Among the possible subcarrier mapping approaches, it is found that localizedFDMA (LFDMA) with channel-dependent scheduling (CDS) results in higher throughput than interleaved FDMA (JFDMA), however, the PARR performance of IFDMA is better than that of LFDMA.

Channel-dependent frequency-domain scheduling in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing communications system

Yin Liu, +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the channel quality metric values (SINR) for each of a plurality of sub-channels are determined, in view of a selected mobile terminal, and an estimated data throughput is calculated for each sub-carrier groups.

Enhanced OFDM-NOMA for next generation wireless communication: A study of PAPR reduction and sensitivity to CFO and estimation errors

TL;DR: An improved Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) receiver is proposed for low-complexity Joint Equalization and CFO Compensation (JECC) in frequency domain using Banded-Matrix Implementation (BMI).

SC-FDMA Versus OFDMA: Sensitivity to Large Carrier Frequency and Timing Offsets on the Uplink

TL;DR: The performance advantage of SC-FDMA with MMSE equalizer over OFDMA can be restored by adopting multistage IC techniques, using the knowledge of CFOs and TOs of different users at the receiver.

Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization With Index Modulation

TL;DR: In order to reduce the inter-channel correlation arising from the activated symbol indices, a symbol mapping algorithm is proposed, which further improves the achievable error-rate performance of the SC-IM scheme.

Frequency domain equalization for single-carrier broadband wireless systems

TL;DR: This article surveys frequency domain equalization (FDE) applied to single-carrier (SC) modulation solutions and discusses similarities and differences of SC and OFDM systems and coexistence possibilities, and presents examples of SC-FDE performance capabilities.

Transmission techniques for digital terrestrial TV broadcasting

TL;DR: The authors discuss the potential of OFDM signaling, with its limitations and inherent problems, as well as another potential technique that has so far been overlooked: single-carrier transmission with frequency- domain equalization, and introduces coded-OFDM (COFDM), which makes use of channel coding and frequency-domain interleaving.

Fair multiuser channel allocation for OFDMA networks using Nash bargaining solutions and coalitions

TL;DR: The proposed algorithms not only provide fair resource allocation among users, but also have a comparable overall system rate with the scheme maximizing the total rate without considering fairness, and have much higher rates than that of the scheme with max-min fairness.

Technical solutions for the 3G long-term evolution

TL;DR: Promising technologies to fulfil 3G evolution targets are presented, including OFDM, multi-antenna solutions, evolved QoS and link layer concepts, and an evolved architecture, indicating that the requirements can indeed be reached using the proposed technologies.
