Explaining ethnic variations in adolescent mental health: a secondary analysis of the Millennium Cohort Study
TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between ethnicity and adolescent mental health was investigated using cross-sectional data from the nationally representative UK Millennium Cohort Study using univariable logistic regression models investigated associations between each factor and outcome; a bivariable model investigated whether household income explained differences by ethnicity, and a multi-variable model additionally adjusted for factors of social support (self-assessed support, parental relationship, participation, socialising, organized activities, religious attendance, and adversity).

Adolescents’ Perceptions and Responses to Peer Mental Health Challenges and Problematic Behaviours Following a Social-Emotional Learning Program
TL;DR: This article explored the responses of sixty-three youth who participated in the Healthy Relationships Plus Program (HRPP) to hypothetical challenges faced by peers, and found that most adolescents are capable of identifying problematic challenges and problematic behaviours, including mental health challenges, suicidal ideation, substance misuse, and unhealthy relationships.

The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire: A Research Note
TL;DR: Preliminary findings suggest that the SDQ functions as well as the Rutter questionnaires while offering the following additional advantages: a focus on strengths as as difficulties; better coverage of inattention, peer relationships, and prosocial behaviour; a shorter format; and a single form suitable for both parents and teachers, perhaps thereby increasing parent-teacher correlations.
