The effect of grain boundary precipitation on the stability of extrinsic grain-boundary dislocations in austenitic steel and aluminium alloy

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of grain boundary precipitation on the stability of extrinsic grain boundary dislocations was studied in alloys in which the occurence of depletion of definite alloy elements in grain boundary region is well documented, namely Cr-Ni-austenitic steel and Al-Zn-Mg alloy.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of non-metallic Al2O3 inclusions, heat treatments and microstructure on the corrosion resistance of an API 5L X42 steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of heat treatments, non-metallic aluminium oxide inclusions, and microstructure on the corrosion resistance of an API 5L X42 steel was examined in a 0.1 M chloride environment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Resistance Spot Welding of Dissimilar Interstitial-Free and High-Strength Low-Alloy Steels

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of dynamic contact resistance on the nugget diameter is examined, and the hardness at the fusion zone of dissimilar HSLA-IF joint lies in between that of fusion zone at the IF side and the base metal of the HSLA side.
Journal ArticleDOI

Twinning and Tripping in 10% Mn steels

TL;DR: In this paper, a medium Mn, Fe-Mn, C-Al-Si alloy was subjected to different heat treatment conditions and subsequent deformation to understand the effect of these processes on austenite.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of hydrogen charging on dislocation multiplication in pre-strained super duplex stainless steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of hydrogen charging on dislocation multiplication in super duplex stainless steel was investigated, and it was found that dislocation density multiplies by about one order of magnitude in samples with less than 5% pre-strain, but remains the same level in sample with a prestrain level of 10% and above.
