Yield Strength Enhancement by Carbon Trapping in Ferrite of the Quenching and Partitioning Steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed that carbon trapping in dislocations at the ferrite grain boundaries during partitioning process is responsible for the yield strength enhancement of ferrite, and demonstrated that carbon atoms segregating in Dislocations can increase yield strength by approximately 300 MPa.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanical properties of reactor pressure vessel steels studied by static and dynamic torsion tests

TL;DR: In this article, internal friction measurements and torsional plastic deformation tests have been performed in reactor pressure vessel steels (unirradiated, irradiated and irradiated/annealed specimens).
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Cr and Nb addition on high-temperature tensile properties in austenitic cast steels used for turbo-charger application

TL;DR: In this article, high-temperature tensile properties of austenitic cast steels containing different W, Nb, and Cr were interpreted by deformation and fracture mechanisms related with carbides and austenite matrix.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Acicular Ferrite and Bainite in API X70 Steel Obtained After Applying a Heat Treatment on Corrosion and Cracking Behaviour

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of acicular ferrite (AF) and bainite (B) obtained by heat treatment (HT) applied to an API X70 steel on corrosion resistance and stress corrosion cracking susceptibility was evaluated through polarization curves and slow strain rate tests respectively, in NS4 solution and congenital water (CW).
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Nb on improving the impact toughness of Mo-containing low-alloyed steels

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact toughness of low-alloyed Cr-Mo steels with Nb can be improved by the formation of fine Mo-rich ξ-phase carbides lining up along the boundaries.
