Effects of Thermo-mechanical Process Parameters on Microstructure and Crystallographic Texture of High Ni–Mo Ultrahigh Strength Steel

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of finish rolling temperatures and cooling rate on the evolution of microstructure and crystallographic texture and finally on the mechanical properties of thermo-mechanically controlled processed steel has been studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of White Etching Bands under Accelerated Rolling Contact Fatigue

TL;DR: In this article, the formation mechanism of white etching bands (WEBs) in bearing components has been investigated in a rotary tribometer under accelerated conditions, where rolling cycles are simulated in a 4-ball test configuration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Martensitic Transformation in Micron-Sized Fcc Single Crystals

TL;DR: In this article, the authors verified that α-martensite formed in micron-sized pillars is nearly dislocation free, surprisingly different than its counterpart in bulk samples, which usually contains a high dislocation density.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dry hyperbaric welding of HSLA steel up to 35 bar ambient pressure with CMT arc mode

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of ambient pressure, from 1 to 35 bar, on penetration depth and microstructure evolution in dry hyperbaric welding of X70 pipeline steel has been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of tempering temperature and microstructure on the corrosion behavior of a tempered steel

TL;DR: In this article, a tempered martensitic matrix was obtained in a low carbon steel, by applying austenization, quenching and tempering heat treatments, which revealed that corrosion behavior of the experimental steels was directly affected by tempering temperature, hardness and microstructure.
