The fine structure and formation mechanism of lower bainite

TL;DR: In this article, the formation of lower bainite sheaves was investigated using optical microscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) in two high-purity Fe-C-4 wt pct Mn-2 wt ppct Si alloys containing 0.4 and 0.6 wtpct carbon.

Investigation of microstructures and properties of 440c martensitic stainless steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of heat treatments on microstructures and mechanical properties of 440C steel was described. Solution treatment was carried out at 1150 o c and was performed at 1100 o c.

The micro structural study of 15Kh2MFA and 15Kh2NMFA reactor pressure vessel steels using positron-annihilation spectroscopy, mössbauer spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the micro structure of the non-irradiated low-alloyed steels (15Kh2MFA and 15Kh2NMFA) was studied using different spectroscopic methods such as the positron annihilation lifetime and Doppler broadening techniques, the Mossbauer spectroscopy, and the Integral low-energy electron (ILEEEM) as well as the Transmission electron microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isothermal bainite transformation in low-alloy steels: Mechanism of transformation

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of carbon concentration of parent austenite on isothermal transformation to bainite has been studied and the results have been rationalised on the basis of Zener ordering of carbon atoms resulting in the formation of BCT ferrite with higher solubility of carbon.

Geometric variability and surface finish of weld zones in Yb:YAG laser welded advanced high strength steels

TL;DR: In this article, the surface texture parameters such as roughness and waviness of laser welds were measured and correlated with geometric variability, showing that although high quality welds with minimal defects can be obtained using the Yb:YAG laser welding process, there is considerable variation in both the shape and the dimensions of weld zones.
