TLDR
In this article, an improved synthesis of the title compounds was reported, and the N,N'-dialkylthioureas 1 with 3-hydroxy-2-butanone gave the imidazole-2(3H)-thiones 2 which on treatment with potassium in boiling tetrahydrofuran give the IMidazol-2ylidenes 3 in excellent yields
Abstract
An improved synthesis of the title compounds is reported. Reaction of the N,N'-dialkylthioureas 1 with 3-hydroxy-2-butanone gives the imidazole-2(3H)-thiones 2 which on treatment with potassium in boiling tetrahydrofuran give the imidazol-2-ylidenes 3 in excellent yields

A zwitterionic cyclopentadienyl annulated imidazolium salt

TL;DR: The first directly annulated cyclopentadienyl-imidazolium salt has been synthesized and fully characterized in the solid-state as mentioned in this paper, where the zwitterion arranges itself in a hydrogen-bridged head to tail trimer which optimizes ionic interactions.

Nitridorhenium(V) Complexes with 1,3,4‐Triphenyl‐1,2,4‐triazol‐5‐ylidene

TL;DR: In this paper, the N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) 1,3,4triphenyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-ylidene (HLPh) was formed under formation of the stable rhenium(V) nitrido complex [ReNCl(HLPh)(LPh), which contains one of the two NHC ligands with an additional orthometallation.

Synthesis and structure determination of a stable organometallic uranium(v) imine complex and its isolobal anionic U(IV)-ate complex

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of one equivalent of Cp*2UCl2 with 2-(trimethylsilylimino)-1,3-di-tert-butylimidazolium chloride in boiling toluene afforded a one electron oxidation of the uranium metal and the opening of the N-heterocyclic ring, resulting in the formation of an organometallic uranium(V) imine complex.

Copper(I) complexes of N-alkyl-substituted N-Heterocyclic carbenes

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis and structural characterization of a variety of copper complexes bearing small alkyl-substituted N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands were reported.

S–H Bond Activation in Hydrogen Sulfide by NHC-Stabilized Silyliumylidene Ions

TL;DR: In this paper, the activation of S-H bonds in hydrogen sulfide by mTer-silyliumylidene ion A (mTer = 2,6-Mes2-C6H3, Mes = 2.4, 6-Me3-C 6H2) to yield an NHC-stabilized thiosilaaldehyde B was reported.
