TLDR
In this article, an improved synthesis of the title compounds was reported, and the N,N'-dialkylthioureas 1 with 3-hydroxy-2-butanone gave the imidazole-2(3H)-thiones 2 which on treatment with potassium in boiling tetrahydrofuran give the IMidazol-2ylidenes 3 in excellent yields

Deposition of Copper by Plasma-Enhanced Atomic Layer Deposition Using a Novel N-Heterocyclic Carbene Precursor

TL;DR: In this paper, two N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-containing copper amides are reported as atomic layer deposition (ALD) precursors, 1,3-Diisopropyl-imidazolin-2-ylidene copper hexamethyldisilazide (1) and 4,5-dimethyl-1, 3-diisopro-dimazol-2 -ylidenes copper hexamide (2) were synthesized and structurally characterized.

[Ru(NHC)(xantphos)(CO)H2] complexes: intramolecular C–H activation and applications in C–C bond formation

TL;DR: Complexes 2-4 and 7 catalyse the Knoevenagel reaction of PhCH2OH with tBuC(O)CH2CN, although they prove to be somewhat less active than the phosphine complex 1.

B-B bond activation and NHC ring-expansion reactions of diboron(4) compounds, and accurate molecular structures of B2(NMe2)4, B2eg2, B2neop2 and B2pin2.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that B-B bond activation may be triggered even at temperatures as low as -40 °C to -30 °C without any metal species involved, which led to the conclusion that the activation of bis-borates with NHCs might be a facile and simple route to access such species.

Reductive generation of stable, five-membered N,N′-diamidocarbenes

TL;DR: The synthesis of the first stable, five-membered N,N'-diamidocarbenes (DACs), including a differentially N-substituted derivative, was achieved via the reduction of a geminal dichloride precursor using potassium.

Synthesis of Complexes with Protic NH,NH-NHC Ligands via Oxidative Addition of 2-Halogenoazoles to Zero-Valent Transition Metals

TL;DR: In this paper, a versatile, one-pot synthesis for the preparation of transition metal complexes bearing protic NH,NH-NHC ligands is disclosed. But the reaction of unsubstituted 2-halogenoazoles with zerovalent metal complexes of the type [M(PPh3)4] (M = Pd, Pt) in the presence of NH4BF4 proceeds by oxidative addition of the C2-X (X = Cl, Br, I) bond to the transition metal followed by protonation at the ring nitrogen atom
