The Anthropic Cosmological Principle

TLDR
In this article, Barrow and Tipler examined the question of Mankind's place in the universe, taking the reader on a tour of many scientific disciplines and offering fascinating insights into issues such as the nature of life, the serach for extraterrestrial intelligence, and the past history and fate of our universe.
Abstract
Is there any connection between the vastness of the universes of stars and galaxies and the existence of life on a small planet out in the suburbs of the Milky Way? This book shows that there is. In their classic work, John Barrow and Frank Tipler examine the question of Mankind's place in the Universe, taking the reader on a tour of many scientific disciplines and offering fascinating insights into issues such as the nature of life, the serach for extraterrestrial intelligence, and the past history and fate of our universe.

The Emperor's Last Clothes?

TL;DR: Can we expect to derive the laws of particle physics from a fundamental theory as discussed by the authors, a question that was ignored for so long can be traced back to an old fallacy: a misguided idea about our own importance.

On the dimensionality of spacetime

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors argue that all superstring theories have more than one effective low-energy limit, corresponding to classical spacetimes with different dimensionalities, and that all but the 3+1-dimensional one might correspond to ''dead worlds'', devoid of observers, in which case all such ensemble theories would actually predict that we should find ourselves inhabiting a 3 + 1-dimensional space.

MSSM dark matter constraints and decaying B-balls

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that B-balls cannot form from an Affleck-Dine condensate with 100% efficiency in the absence of LSP annihilations after they decay.
