The Anthropic Cosmological Principle

TLDR
In this article, Barrow and Tipler examined the question of Mankind's place in the universe, taking the reader on a tour of many scientific disciplines and offering fascinating insights into issues such as the nature of life, the serach for extraterrestrial intelligence, and the past history and fate of our universe.
Abstract
Is there any connection between the vastness of the universes of stars and galaxies and the existence of life on a small planet out in the suburbs of the Milky Way? This book shows that there is. In their classic work, John Barrow and Frank Tipler examine the question of Mankind's place in the Universe, taking the reader on a tour of many scientific disciplines and offering fascinating insights into issues such as the nature of life, the serach for extraterrestrial intelligence, and the past history and fate of our universe.

The Constancy of the Constants of Nature: Updates

TL;DR: The current observational and experimental bounds on the time variation of the constants of nature (the fine structure constant, the gravitational constant, and the proton-electron mass ratio) are reviewed in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

New solution of the cosmological constant problems.

TL;DR: This work extends the usual gravitational action principle by promoting the bare cosmological constant (CC) to a field which can take many possible values and suggests a new view of time evolution.

Anthropic Prediction for Λ and the Q Catastrophe

TL;DR: In this paper, probability distributions for the cosmological constant A and the amplitude of primordial density fluctuations Q in models where they both are anthropic variables were discussed, with mild assumptions about the prior probabilities.

The astrobiological landscape : philosophical foundations of the study of cosmic life

TL;DR: Astrobiology as the Neo-Copernican synthesis of Darwinism as mentioned in this paper is a natural extension of evolutionary biology, and it can be seen as an evolutionary extension of natural science.
