Retention of Pollutants on and Within the Soil Solid Phase
TL;DR: For quantifying the retention of pollutants in the soil solid phase, an equilibrium should be determined; consequently, major attention should be given to the kinetics of the process as discussed by the authors, since, in general, not with a single pollutant but with a mixture of pollutants and natural organic and inorganic compounds, the competition between the compounds for the soil adsorption sites will control their retention on or in the gaseous phase.
