TLDR
Two-dimensional sinusoid fitting and Fourier transform methods of analyzing fringes to determine the wave-front topography are described and are accurate.
Abstract
Two-dimensional sinusoid fitting and Fourier transform methods of analyzing fringes to determine the wave-front topography are described. The methods are easy to apply because they do not require finding fringe centers and fringe orders. Also, they are accurate. For an active optics experiment in which we have used these techniques, experimental noise exceeds the error resulting from analysis of noise-free theoretical fringe patterns.

Polarization-based phase-shifting method for shape contours

TL;DR: In this article, a phase shifting technique of changing polarization state in a Twyman-Green interferometer is presented to measure the shape of the object surface, where the wavefronts of the reference beam and object beam are orthogonally polarized.

Camera calibration based on virtual planar targets

TL;DR: A new camera calibration method based on the virtual planar targets that is flexible and easy to operate, and it has been applied to calibrate different cameras and an actual 3D shape measurement system in the Lab.

Projected Fringe Pattern Analysis by the Fourier Method: Application to Vibration Studies

TL;DR: In this article, the Fourier analysis of a Ronchi ruling on a homogenous cantilever is applied to the analysis of the free-end vibration of a free-ending cantilver beam.

Fourier transform method and temporal phase in order to measure frequency, amplitude, and surface profile of a low-frequency vibrating cantilever

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel method of phase differences extraction is applied in order to study vibrations on a homogenous cantilever. But this technique is based on the Fourier transform method and the quotient of the two adjacent frames of the patterns.

Extended use of two crossed Babinet compensators for wavefront sensing in adaptive optics

TL;DR: An extended use of two crossed Babinet compensators as a wavefront sensor for adaptive optics applications is proposed, based on the lateral shearing interferometry technique in two directions, which has a higher degree of freedom in terms of subapertures and on the choice of detectors.

Fourier-transform method of fringe-pattern analysis for computer-based topography and interferometry

TL;DR: In this article, a fast Fourier transform method of topography and interferometry is proposed to discriminate between elevation and depression of the object or wave-front form, which has not been possible by the fringe-contour generation techniques.

TL;DR: The task is to learn the phases of real positive intensity fringes from an optical testing interferometer using a direct analog-to-digital arctangent converter, coupled to a turns counter that automatically registers unwrapped phase.
