TLDR
Two fluorescent coordination polymers have been designed and synthesized from a tetraphenylethene (TPE) derivative that exhibit reversible mechanochromic luminescence with color changes visible to the naked-eye from blue to green-yellow by grinding or soaking in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) under UV irradiation.

Tetraphenylethylene immobilized metal-organic frameworks: highly sensitive fluorescent sensor for the detection of Cr2O72- and nitroaromatic explosives

TL;DR: In this article, three luminescent MOFs (1,2,2-tetrakis(4-(pyridin-4-yl)phenyl)ethane (TPPE) with the π-electron-rich tetraphenylethylene (TPE) and aggregation induced emission feature is selected as functional ligand to construct the fluorescent metal-organic frameworks.

Guest-Triggered Aggregation-Induced Emission in Silver Chalcogenolate Cluster Metal-Organic Frameworks.

TL;DR: A dual‐node 3D silver chalcogenolate cluster MOF is designed and synthesized, where the AIE ligand shows relatively flexible and rotatable conformations that exhibited not only intense but also guest molecule switched luminescent properties.

In situ encapsulation of pyridine-substituted tetraphenylethene cations in metal–organic framework for the detection of antibiotics in aqueous medium

TL;DR: In this article, a simple luminescent MOF was synthesized by in situ encapsulation of cationic TPE-based guest TMPyPE into an anionic MOF, which exhibits high stability and strong fluorescence in water, and can selectively and sensitively detect nitrofuran antibiotics in aqueous medium.

Reversible Mechanochromic Delayed Fluorescence in 2D Metal-Organic Micro/Nanosheets: Switching Singlet-Triplet States through Transformation between Exciplex and Excimer.

TL;DR: This work not only develops new 2D micro/nanosheets as MCDF materials, but also supplies a singlet–triplet energy switching mechanism on their reversible mechanochromic process.

Single-crystal structure validation with the program PLATON

TL;DR: The results of a single-crystal structure determination when in CIF format can now be validated routinely by automatic procedures, and the concepts of validation and the classes of checks carried out by the program PLATON as part of the IUCr checkCIF facility are described.

The Chemistry and Applications of Metal-Organic Frameworks

TL;DR: Metal-organic frameworks are porous materials that have potential for applications such as gas storage and separation, as well as catalysis, and methods are being developed for making nanocrystals and supercrystals of MOFs for their incorporation into devices.

Flexible metal–organic frameworks

TL;DR: Advances in flexible and functional metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), also called soft porous crystals, are reviewed by covering the literature of the five years period 2009-2013 with reference to the early pertinent work since the late 1990s.
