TL;DR: The next generation of 4 pi arrays for high-precision gamma-ray spectroscopy will involve "gamma-ray tracking front-end on digital signal processing techniques, which allows to extract energy, timing and spatial information on the interactions of a gamma -ray in the Ge detector by pulse shape analysis of its signals.
Journal ArticleDOI
The giant dipole resonance in hot nuclei
TL;DR: In this article, a consistent picture of the giant dipole resonance in hot nuclei is presented, in terms of general arguments of sum rules, and of the interplay with the fluctuations of the nuclear surface.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed analysis of the measured decay half-lives and decay scheme of the odd-A Ba isotope is presented, giving a first insight in the structure of this neutron-rich nucleus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Is the K-quantum number conserved in the order-to-chaos transition region?
G. Benzoni,A. Bracco,S. Leoni,N. Blasi,F. Camera,C. Grassi,Benedicte Million,A. Paleni,M. Pignanelli,Enrico Vigezzi,O. Wieland,Masayuki Matsuo,Thomas Døssing,B. Herskind,G.B. Hagemann,J. N. Wilson,A. Maj,M. Kmiecik,G. Lo Bianco,C. M. Petrache,M. Castoldi,A. Zucchiati,G. de Angelis,D. R. Napoli,P. Bednarczyk,D. Curien +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the validity of the K-quantum number in the excited rapidly rotating 163Er nucleus was investigated by analyzing the variance and covariance of the spectrum fluctuations of γ-cascades feeding into low-K and high-K bands.
Journal ArticleDOI
In-beam γ-ray spectroscopy of 42 Ca
M. Lach,J. Styczen,W. Meczynski,P. Bednarczyk,A. Bracco,J. Grebosz,A. Maj,J.C. Merdinger,N. Schulz,M. B. Smith,K. M. Spohr,J.P. Vivien,M. Zieblinski +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, high-spin states of the 42Ca nucleus, populated in the 68 MeV 18O + 30Si reaction, have been studied in a γ-γ-recoil coincidence experiment, and the level scheme of 42Ca has been extended up to 13.7 MeV.
